Cassandra Nordell-MacLean
Co-Founder & Principal Designer

Cassandra has been designing kitchens, bathrooms and homes for 18 years, and has forged a new path within her industry. She built William Standen Co. into a one-stop-shop within the home design, renovations and home goods markets.

Cassandra’s innovative business leadership has been widely recognized. She made the 2016 W100 list in Canadian Business Magazine as one of the top 100 female entrepreneurs in Canada. She’s also been recognized by PROFIT Magazine for leading Canada’s fourth fastest growing company in construction and consumer services and one of the country’s top new growth companies.

In co-founding William Standen Co., Cassandra set out to increase the availability of high-quality home renovation products within Southwestern Ontario and make home renovations easier and less stressful for her clients. Along the way, she’s streamlined and simplified the entire renovation process, allowing clients to benefit from working with just one company throughout their renovation journey. Today, William Standen Co. is the only company in Southwestern Ontario that has successfully combined a design studio, construction firm and home goods retailer under the same roof.

Cassandra is a firm believer that good design can change the way people live. As a designer, Cassandra strikes a beautiful balance in her work, creating spaces that are as functional as they are stunning. Her work has been featured on HGTV Canada and in countless magazines and publications, both international and domestic. She’s also received several design awards from the National Kitchen & Bath Association and was named one of the 2014 National Kitchen & Bath Association’s Top 30 Under 30 in North America.

In leading William Standen Co.’s team of award-winning designers, Cassandra fosters an innovative spirit, inspiring and encouraging young talent through mentorship and training. Cassandra also enjoys educating homeowners and other professionals about the transformative power of well-designed interiors. She writes regularly on design and renovation for the newspapers such as the London Free Press and Sarnia Observer and speaks at industry events across North America. Underlying her success is a passion for helping others. Whether it’s designing a space that improves someone’s quality of life or donating her time to a worthy cause, Cassandra strives to give back wherever she can.
