First, the facts —-> Canadian home sales rise again in September 2019
Ottawa, ON, October 15, 2019- Statistics[1] released today by The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) show national home sales were up in September 2019.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- National home sales rose 0.6% month-over-month (m-o-m) in September.
- The national average sale price was up 5.3% y-o-y.
When is the best time to list my home in Canada?
According to whichmortgage.ca May and June tend to have the highest number of sales, and December typically has the lowest number of sales each year. This means that if you’re considering a renovation, you should plan to start renovating early in the year to ensure that your home is ready to list and sell in the spring. One important factor to keep in mind is that a quality contractor will book months in advance!
How to ensure you get the most for your investment:
- A proper design is key. The wrong design will 100% hinder the sale of your home. I have seen it countless times; potential buyers get discouraged from buying homes that have been renovated in a way that does not appeal to them. The result of this is a total waste of your money on the renovation.
- A qualified designer will:
- ensure that your project is priced within the value of your home, making sure that your investment does not lose you money if you sell your home.
- Materials, colour, lighting and how your space makes a potential buyer feel makes the difference.
- Today’s home buyers are educated, informed and are not fooled by lower quality cabinetry, products or renovation materials. They don’t want to buy a home that hosts a thoughtless new kitchen, bathroom or space. They want to know, how was the shower waterproofed behind the tile, what’s behind the walls, what is the fixture warranty and what certified trades were used?
- In the Sarnia and London markets, potential buyers recognize the William Standen™ brand and our experience has been that this will work in your favour when it’s time to sell.
- Design is more than looks, potential buyers want to know how the space functions, how the appliances and fixtures work, are they eco-friendly, are the materials toxic, how will the materials affect their children’s allergies and more. Get ahead of these questions by working with an expert team.
At William Standen™ we have the skill and the experience to deliver the project and pass on all of the details and information packages to you and your real estate agent to help sell the home. We are here to be your strategic partner in designing a space that works for you, the planet and our community.
