The client’s existing open-concept kitchen, dining, and living areas were not functional for their large family. The wide-open space lacked sound separation, creating an uncomfortable, noisy environment when everyone gathered together. Our goal was to add structure and functionality while preserving the beautiful lakefront views. We carefully designed the layout by incorporating walls to create more defined spaces, allowing for greater privacy and improved acoustics. Additionally, we expanded into the garage to add a second floor, which included an extra bedroom and bathroom to accommodate visiting family. A powder room was also introduced to the home, and the ensuite was remodelled to better meet the needs of the family.

The re-designed and renovated home resulted in a harmonious and comfortable living space where the kitchen, dining, and living areas were designed with greater intention and consideration for acoustics and family gatherings. The custom kitchen features a large walk-in pantry and thoughtful design elements like a spice pullout, tray divider, double waste bin, and pullout corner cabinet—each crafted to support the homeowner’s cooking habits. Beautiful, hand-selected granite countertops with a leather finish, complemented by a neutral palette of white oak and soft white cabinetry, completed the stunning, family-friendly design. The space is now both functional and aesthetically pleasing, perfectly suited for family gatherings.
