How We Transformed This Home

Kitchen

The existing kitchen was very small and closed off to the rest of the home. We removed a wall to create a large kitchen space, that would open onto an open concept dining room. The new space features multiple seating areas to encompass entertaining and family get together requirements.

The focal point in the new custom kitchen was an artisan made, custom walnut raised bar top with a live wooden edge. The walnut wood is mitered at each end, allowing it to waterfall down each side of the eating area, creating a unique and natural look.

The back wall features sage green custom cabinetry with flush built in refrigeration and freezer columns.

The wide plank, engineered hardwood flooring was carried onto a kitchen wall, on an angle to act as a secondary focal point. The wood wall adds to the natural theme of the new home and adds texture to the space.

Sage green custom painted floating shelves incorporate display items and added storage without weighing down the gorgeous wood wall. A secondary preparation area was designed into the new space to allow drink and snack prep without interfering with the main chef in the kitchen area.

The area was finished with a drywall accent painted in navy blue, featuring added recessed lighting. It incorporates a mini bar fridge, microwave and warming drawer, and added storage.

Main Bathroom

The existing main bathroom was divided and dysfunctional. We removed walls, opened the space and created a personal spa-like space.

The existing bathroom had a wall dividing a dated whirlpool tub and closet, from the vanity and very small shower. We removed the wall, as well as extended a main wall into the bedroom space to create a large and luxurious ensuite bathroom. The new space features a five foot walk in shower with access on each side of the glass door, a six-foot soaker tub, his and hers sinks, recessed medicine cabinets for extra storage, a more private toilet area and a linen storage cabinet.

Dining Room

The old living room was transformed into a new, bright and open dining room. The custom, Canadian made dining room table features self-storing leaves to seat 6-12 people.

A new fireplace was incorporated in the space with a gorgeous navy blue accent wall. Two pendant light fixtures illuminate the eating area whether the table is set for six, or expanded to seat twelve.

Sun Room

The new design relocated the opening between the kitchen, and this gorgeous sun room. The space features a smaller, all wood, Canadian-made round table where one can enjoy coffee or tea, while overlooking the gorgeous green landscape.
