We completely redesigned this main floor, relocating the kitchen, removing walls, and adding a new window to bring in more light. By moving the kitchen into what was once a sunken family room, we gained much-needed storage and improved the overall flow of the space. The redesign made it possible for our clients to stay in the home they love, while meeting their needs for storage, functionality, and style. Our clients came to us with a small, outdated kitchen that no longer fit their lifestyle. Although they loved their home and didn’t want to move, they needed a solution to make the space functional again.

The newly redesigned space is both functional and inviting, with a kitchen that now boasts optimal storage and improved flow. A window above the sink lets in natural light, while carefully placed lighting throughout the kitchen and dining room enhances both work zones and ambiance for entertaining. Removing the load-bearing wall between the dining room and kitchen created an open-concept space, supported by new concrete footings in the basement. The kitchen features a balanced mix of white and dark finishes, with a live-edge walnut island and peninsula adding warmth and comfort. The space is completed with custom Canadian-made furniture, including a dining table that seats twelve, creating a welcoming environment for both everyday living and family gatherings.
