2019 Ontario Design Competition Award Winner – best before & after bath

In designing the master bedroom, our biggest challenge was to separate the closet from the master bathroom. We used the shower to separate the bathroom from the walk-in closet and added sun tubes to bring in natural light. The bathroom flooring is marble-like tile with a matte finish and the shower is finished with large polished marble for texture and elegance. The no threshold shower creates a seamless transition between the shower and bathroom flooring. The closet provides plenty of storage, with floor to ceiling cabinetry.

For the bedroom furniture, we chose pieces with durable metal bases. As owners of dogs that like to chew, this client needed pet-friendly furniture that would stand up. The Essentia mattress is made with environmentally-friendly memory foam, which means no off-gassing of harmful chemicals. An added mattresses protection pad keeps allows the dog to enjoy this comfortable bed too.  A fireplace was added to the space to make the space cozy and warmth while adding a touch of luxury.

Our clients love to cook, so we created a dream kitchen specifically designed for an at-home chef. We reused their existing quartz countertop and added in a butcher-block area for the chef to prepare food at. A large range hood was added to provide plenty of ventilation. To make entertaining easier and more enjoyable, we opened up the floorplan between the kitchen and living room for a space where family and friends can gather for many years to come.
