Luxury Whole Home Transformation

We had the privilege of working on this one-of-a-kind whole home transformation™ and are blessed to have this be the second project this homeowner has asked us to complete for them. The family purchased this 1910 craftsman home in an established neighbourhood near Detroit, Michigan with the goal of turning it into their long-term dream home. Their team of architects designed an addition, changed the roof lines, completely revamped the exterior and we designed the whole interior of the home.

For this project, we wanted the end result to match the clients personality and lifestyle, and also offer them a comforting space that truly felt like home as soon as they stepped foot into the finished space. In order to achieve a daring yet comforting space, we broke some rules in mixing finishes, styles, woods and metals and we think the results speak for themselves.

Our signature custom cabinetry, tile and hardware were shipped to this project, and local craftsman installed it according to our specifications. Mill sawn rift cut oak, in a carbon stain with a velvet finish adds a bold accent to the kitchen cabinetry. Simple white custom cabinetry is the main focal, with accents of walnut.

The fridge and freezer columns were faced with a grid style custom cabinetry door to offer a modern take on a craftsman style pattern and to bring texture into the space.

A ceiling detail was added over the kitchen island to bring warm and style into the large space. Across from the kitchen island is a custom coffee station and also acts as a secondary prep area.

The cocktail room offers an entertainment space, and also a quite zone where the homeowners can read or work from home, and the family room connects the dining area and kitchen for an open concept but cozy atmosphere.

The ensuite design features a fun, yet elegant flooring pattern where we mixed modern elements with traditional styling and cabinetry details. The result is a stunning, bold, yet quaint feel to the space. During the design phase this project took home a first place award in the Ontario competition for best design concept, and is currently in the running for a Detroit design award.
